Closeup time lapse of growing cells of cumulus congestus. In this video there are several examples of pileus forming. These appear as thin disks that momentarily appear above a convecting pillar. The pillar often continues upwards, breaking through the pileus. There are several good examples in this video, though the camera kept shutting off so the video is not continuous as I would have liked.
