Ram Fortress - Serbia
The Ram Fortress is a 15th century fort situated on a steep slope on the right bank of the Danube, in the village of Ram, municipality of Veliko Gradište, eastern Serbia. It is one of the oldest military fortifications in Serbia.
The first information about the place Ram is mentioned in 1128, and the archaeological sites nearby tell us that Celts, Romans, Serbs, Turks and Hungarians lived and created history here.
In addition to its significant historical and archaeological importance, Ram Fortress is also adorned with a magnificent view of the Danube. Close to the fortress, there are remains of the Turkish caravanserai, which are 6 centuries old.
The ticket price for individual visits is 300 dinars ( EUR) , while for group visits it is 200 dinars per person. The working hours of the Ram Fortress are from 10 am to 21 pm, every day except Tuesdays.
