Is asking somebody ‘Where are you really from?’ a ‘microaggression?

In the last few years the expression ‘microaggression’ has become increasingly popular among those who wish to denounce what they claim is subtle racism. Microaggressions are slights and negative behaviour which may upset or distress members of minority groups, especially black people.
