Toccata and Fugue in d minor BWV 565 - J.S. Bach

October 25, 2010 marks the 30th anniversary of the passing of Virgil Fox. It gives me great pleasure to post several of the pieces I was privileged to study with him over the 10 years I spent as his student. In the spirit of ’honoring the master’, I submit these performances in a style similar to his. They contain the essence of what he taught me about music in general and organ playing in particular. In my youth I was often dismissively accused of being a “carbon copy“ of Fox, but the fact is tha
