Just a quick side by side comparison between the two in various video modes. Note that my GoPro is the HeroHD, not a Hero2, it’s still going strong so I never replaced it with the new model. I’ll do a similar video later in low light.
While the Sony’s video seems a little sharper and the color balance/light handling are better, I have noticed some compression artifacts when there’s a lot of detail in the video and it’s panning fast. I’ve only seen it in 720p @ 170º FOV, it doesn’t seem to show up in other
