UK university slaps trigger warning on George Orwell’s 1984

A British university has slapped a “trigger warning“ on the most famous novel ever written about censorship and tyranny, says Spiked Online Chief Political Writer Brendan O’Neill. It comes as staff at the University of Northampton placed a trigger warning on George Orwell’s book 1984 and other texts for “explicit material“ that may be “offensive and upsetting“ to students. “It is just so deliciously ironic the fact that Orwellianism is now coming for Orwell himself,“ Mr O’Neill said.
