“Just Because“ A Jay Wade plays Western Swing music // Central Hill Sessions

“Just Because“ is a Hawaiian song from 1929, written by Joe Shelton, Sydney Robin and Bob Shelton and originally recorded by Nelstone’s Hawaiians (Hubert Nelson and James D. Touchstone). The song has been covered many times since and recorded by a large number of artists, like The Shelton Brothers and the Lone Star Cowboys in 1933. The Prairie Ramblers 1935 version is by far our favourite - check it out and you won’t be sorry! Elvis Presley recorded this song famously at the Sun Studios decades later. Other artists include Frankie Yankovic, Paul McCartney, Al Hirt, Jorma Kaukonen, Brian Setzer, … Anna and I decided to give it our own twist in another Central Hills Session in our home in Crystal Palace, London.
