We need more bohemians: Dr. James Lough at TEDxUpperEastSide

James Lough is the former director of the writing program at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he currently teaches full-time. His book “Sites of Insight“ won the Colorado Endowment of Humanities Award. He is also the winner of the Frank Waters Southwestern Writing Award for short fiction and has published more than 80 articles, short stories, and book reviews. He lives in Savannah, Georgia. His book This Ain’t No Holiday Inn: Down and Out at the Chelsea Hotel 1980-1995 explores the lives of Bohemian artists before Bohemians became an endangered species. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
