D-DAY REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 6th June 2021 SHORNCLIFFE MILITARY CEMETERY.

SHORNCLIFFE MILITARY CEMETERY, FOLKSTONE, KENT An educational video discussing the Shorncliffe Military Cemetery. Brief Overview: Shorncliffe Military Cemetery, is owned by the MOD and is thought to have been established in the early 1850’s. The first recorded burial taking place in August 1856. The records held by the MOD suggest that the site was created with the sole purpose of the interment of military casualties. Three Victoria Cross (VC) have graves at this site. Many Commonwealth Soldiers are buried in these grounds. It was also noted Gurkha graves are on site to; along side military spouse and families.
