First time I heard this piece, it was about 10 years ago through the video of Grisha Goryachev’s performance back when he was a little kid in 1989! I was stunned after watching the video and have always been looking up to him ever since. Just incredible to be able to play this at that age at this speed, and on the big stage! Not only is he a great guitar player, but one of the nicest people I know. I tried messaging him for the first time after I realized he was on social media. He replied without hesitation and was kind enough to even open a video call with me and give me some tips and listen to my playing. We have been in contact ever since, and I am always very grateful.
