Severe weather in Scandinavia has knocked out power lines, flooded villages and brought public transport to a halt in the hardest-hit areas. The storm, dubbed Hans, hit Sweden late on Sunday and reached Norway on Monday, also affecting parts of Denmark and Finland. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has declared a red alert level due to very heavy rains, floods and landslides across much of the country.
