A Sino-American youth new year charity concert was held at Shanghai’s century-old landmark Zhang Yuan on Friday. It featured the China debut of the American One Voice Children’s Choir and the choir from the primary school affiliated to Shanghai No. 1 Normal School. The performance came ahead of the 45th anniversary of China-U.S. diplomatic ties. “Music is definitely a universal language. I hope that through the power of music and power of our friendship, we’ll be able to unite and have an even stronger bond with each other,“ said Masa Fukuda, director of One Voice Children’s Choir.
The event was initiated by the charity organization Happiness Station. “It aims to bridge distances and build lasting friendships through musical exchange, emphasizing the importance of youth in fostering cultural identity,“ said Cai Mengdi, vice chairman of Happiness Station.
