Why Israel Destroys Mosques (what is Cultural Property and the LOAC)

The LOAC or “Law of Armed Conflict“ is used as the sort of “Guiding spirit“ for what is legal in war. Some civilian structures like religious buildings or even secular monuments are considered “Cultural Property“ and receive special protection during conflict. However, that protection is removed when the building is used for military purposes. Also note that it takes a SIGNIFICANT amount of time to blow up a building and many hours of transporting and wiring explosives. It’s not something you do for the Lulz. It’s a pain in the neck.
