The UN has designated May 29 as the International Day of UN Peacekeepers to recognize the contributions of civilians and uniformed personnel who perform the task of peacekeeping. The theme of the International Day of UN Peacekeepers 2021 was “The road to a lasting peace: Leveraging the power of youth for peace and security“ as many UN peacekeepers are aged between 18-29.
