The Pyramids formed in Long Beach, CA in 1961. In early 1964, they made the Billboard Top 20 with their instrumental hit “Penetration.“ “Bikini Drag“ is from the film, “Bikini Beach.“ In a FILMFAXplus (April/June 2004) interview, director William Asher revealed that the script was originally written for The Beatles but they dropped out as their rapidly growing fame caused their fee to exceed the film’s budget.
