Various Artists–Future Grooves Vol. 2, Released 2023-11-17, Pure Progressive
Welcome to our 200th release, the ‘Future Grooves Vol. 2’ EP featuring 3 cuts spanning the Progressive House and Deep Trance genres. First up is a gorgeous new version of Stoby & Sonia Scott’s ‘Zen’, courtesy of Sonia herself. She has taken their 2021 Balearic track a little deeper at 125bpm & also made it more dancefloor friendly with a tighter rhythm track and punchy kick, keeping all the beautiful arpeggios & haunting vocal ornaments in place. Second in this pack is the UK’s Paul Hawcroft with his follow up to ‘Jumping Hoops’ [Pure Breaks]. ‘Subliminal’ is a very sexy 122bpm progressive house track with a nostalgic vibe that brings early Renaissance compilations to mind, it’s various synth lines reminiscent of both Digweed’s ‘For What You Dream Of’ and Sasha’s ‘Scorchio’. Finally, CBM from the USA’s West Coast (Vandit, Ultra, Perfecto, Lost Language) drops a darkly melodic slab of 126bpm Deep Trance with haunting vocal stabs and squelchy FX.
