California Blaze CREEPS Closer to World’s Largest Tree

A second fire is causing concern for the giant redwoods in Sequoia National Park in California. The Windy Fire, which started on September 9 and has yet to be contained, has now spread across 5,000 hectares. It has burned into part of the park’s Peyrone Sequoia Grove but so far cooler weather has kept it away from the grove containing some of the world’s largest trees, including General Sherman.
