Centrifugal force experiment with a bottle of water
Why doesn’t water splash out of an upside down bottle?
Let’s explore the centrifugal force with a simple physics experiment.
When you spin the bottle of water, the centrifugal force - the force that occurs when the object rotates - acts on them. Because of this, the water is pressed to the bottom of the container and does not splash out.
If you let go of the rope during rotation, the bottle will fly up or sideways, depending on where it is at the moment. The same thing happens to the water inside - it heads in the opposite direction from the rope, but it is held by the bottle.
