The Forgotten Files EP 3.2: Steve Torrence ~ Globe Earth vs Flat Earth (Boat out to sea 20 miles)

In this short episode of ’The Forgotten Files’, we feature a short video by Steve Torrence. A sort of a follow up if you will. Another wonderful demonstration focussing this time of what we would expect a boat, sailing away from you, to look like on a Globe Earth vs a Flat Earth. Steve’s channel can be found here: ❗❗ORIGINAL VIDEO DESCRIPTION❗❗ Published on Jul 20, 2017 We can see ships go out to sea at most coastlines but we don’t always know their distance or when they should not be visible or over the curve. I’ve taken a tall ship and sent it out to 20 miles over flat water and curved water on a globe of radius 3963 miles. The only thing not modeled is any effect the atmosphere would have in that 20 miles. Actual effects are much more dynamic than can be reproduced realistically in a simulation. This is just a purely geometric example mainly showing when the boat would go over the curve and how that would appear. If anyone wants to duplicate this test, it would show which model represents reality better. Italian version: Portuguese version:
