Painting a Cardinal - Timelapse

Today I’m painting a Cardinal! Sometimes I find that painting red birds in Acrylic is a bit of challenge. Red often turns too pink when trying to mix highlights, so I find that going back and using a thin wash of red over top of those highlights, brings the reds back to life! In this time lapse painting video, I want to show you a bit of my process of how I do that. I’ll describe some of the techniques that I use and talk about my thought process of how I bring this Cardinal to life in the painting.
