This is the most terrifying storm this community has dealt with. How Hurricane Helene affected me in south Georgia after Florida landfall and footage of the historic storm surge aftermath. Hurricane Helene was a category 4 hurricane once it made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region in the gulf Thursday September 26, 2024. This hurricane had strong winds reaching 140MPH. Storm surge was at historical highs. Major flooding and damage from the storm surge was reported along the gulf coast of Florida. This Hurricane arrived in Georgia as it followed a track further north affecting other states.
