Volumes & Voxels
We start by exploring what volumes and voxels are, and how they work in the context of Houdini.
Volume VOPS
Similar to how we can manipulate points with VOPS, we can use the same techniques for volumes. There are some crucial differences however between regular geometry and volumes and in this series we talk all about it.
Distance Volumes
Distance volumes (or SDFs) are a different type of volume that measure distance to a surface. This is a very powerful class of volumes that allow us to further control simulations and also create cool organic type of geometry and even animations as well.
Velocity Fields
One of the main ways to achieve a variety of magical FX is with velocity fields. In this series we talk about what velocity fields are and also create a few velocity fields and use them to drive particles.
Downloads
In the downloads lesson I’ve included the HIP file where I built all of the examples from the course. If you want to explore this file you can download it.
