UK: Hundreds form queue outside London food bank

Subscribe to our channel! Hundreds of people queued outside a food bank in London’s Wembley on Saturday, amid rising economic uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. People were seen queuing for several hundred metres outside the London Community Kitchen food bank in Wembley, as around 60 volunteers handed them bags of fresh produce, dry food, and pre-cooked meals. “We’ve got about maybe 800 people queuing in the queue at the moment,“ said London Community Kitchen food bank volunteer Rena. “There’s a lot of poverty, people can’t afford food here at the moment. So [they] stand in queues for three to four hours long in freezing temperatures just to get a little bit of food for their family.“ “The truth is that we need this. A lot of people do.
