FIRST BLOOD | DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS - TORBOLE WORLD CUP

Alexandre Cousin strikes first blood in the men’s, whilst Femke van der Veen sets the pace in the women’s after a tricky day of racing The weather on day two of the Torbole PWA World Cup still wasn’t your typical spring day in Lake Garda with more rain greeting the competitors again in the morning. However, the good news was that there was at least some wind to accompany the rain, which allowed the opening race in the men’s fleet and the first two elimination to be completed. Racing remained tricky throughout with the wind not only switching directions, but also varying in strength anywhere between 6-20 knots, which not only made gear selection difficult, but it also made timing starts extremely difficult, which led to numerous premature starts and disqualifications. At the end of proceedings today, Alexandre Cousin (Patrik / Patrik Sails / Patrik Foils) and Femke van der Veen (AV Boards / Point-7) lead the current event rankings.
