“George Galloway Is The FUTURE For This Country,” Rafe Heydel-Mankoo On Rochdale By-Election

Following George Galloway’s Rochdale controversial by-election win, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak used a Friday evening address to warn that democracy is being targeted by extremists. Speaking at a lectern outside the doors of No 10 Downing Street, Mr Sunak warned of “forces here at home trying to tear us apart,” in the aftermath of the October 7 attacks by Hamas against Israel. Sunak also said the Workers Party of Britain leader’s victory in the by-election was “beyond alarming”. On the other side, Labour has apologised to the voters of Rochdale for not fielding a candidate after Mr Galloway’s triumph. Sir Keir Starmer’s party warned Mr Galloway will stoke “fear and division” and said he “only won because Labour did not stand” after it dropped its candidate Azhar Ali for suggesting Israel was complicit in Hamas’ October 7 attack. Mr Galloway, one of Britain’s most divisive politicians, swept to victory in the greater Manchester seat, gaining almost 40% of the vote in a contest mired in chaos and controversy and dominated by the Gaza conflict. The former Labour and Respect MP took aim at the Labour leader in his victory speech focused on Palestine. Mr Galloway said: “Keir Starmer, this is for Gaza. You have paid, and you will pay, a high price for the role that you have played in enabling, encouraging and covering for the catastrophe presently going on in occupied Palestine in the Gaza Strip.” TalkTV’s Peter Cardwell is joined by the New Culture Forum’s Rafe Heydel-Mankoo and social policy analyst Dr. Rakib Ehsan, to break down the controversial by-election victory.
