SLEDGE HOCKEY DRILLS AND SKILLS | HOW TO CARRY THE PUCK

When beginning playing sledge hockey many players struggle with carrying the puck. Pushing the puck the proper distance in front of you is key, but requires finesse and lots and lots of practice. If you haven’t seen my video on Fast Hands, be sure to look that up first. It will drastically help you in carrying the puck because you need to get good at moving your hands up and down the stick really fast. Practice pushing the puck a short distance in front of you that is far enough ahead that you can get a stride in - but not so far that you can’t reach it back into your hands and that an opponent can grab it away from you. I learned that if I practiced keeping one hand up and one hand down my sticks, that it allowed me to fully stick handle with one stick while focusing on my other hand for continuing my stride, and at the same time helping you accelerate.
