British Military Sabre Instruction - Angelo Solo Drill

We often call it Angelo solo drill because (if mind serves me correctly) it appears firstly on Angelo’s highland/broadsword exercise ( the 10 broadsword division poster from 1799), which is then later introduced into Roworth’s the Art of Defence following Taylor’s ten lessons (which in themselves are an adaptation with thrust work based on the same 10 divisions “poster“ from Angelo. This is also a nice warm up exercise we implement in class as we find it often helps newcomers and seniors alike remember some basics and help them get into the “rhythm“ of the system.
