SURVEYOR III Soil Sampler Sequence (1967)

Surveyor 3 was the third lander of the American Surveyor program sent to explore the surface of the Moon. This short NASA film shows the operations of the soil sampler. It was stabilized and cleaned up for better presentation. The television camera on Surveyor 3 consisted of a vidicon tube.
