Extreme weather continues to affect Turkey. On August 28, heavy rains hit Istanbul. The Meteorological Service issued a yellow warning. The amount of rainfall was record-breaking. More than 90 millimeters of rain fell per square meter. The record rainfall led to the worst flooding in the city in recent years. The European part of the metropolis suffered the most.
