This is how to find the right textbook to learn German fast. · My favorite analog study tools!

This is my strategy for how to find the right textbook to learn German fast. Like this is literally what I do when I decide on a book to learn any language really. And I use books a lot. Why? Because it is sooo cozy to take a book to the couch. Way better than an app. It has a lot of advantages. Studying a language with books vs apps I don’t prefer either but I think that books are better for when you are on the road. It is easier to immerse yourself into a book, you can get to the information faster and if you are interrupted, you can pick up faster where you left off. With an app, you often have to start over (or because the information is less brain-friendly, you have a hard time remembering what you have learned before). Types of books I recommend: German grammar book (with exercises) = Grammatik German grammar booklet = Kurzgrammatik / Verbtabellen (for Irregularities) German basic vocabulary with phrases (Basiswortschatz) Hope this helps for finding the right one. I have a hard time giving precise recommendations, because learning is really different for everyone, and I don’t want to push my favorite language learning books on you. But I can, if you want me to. 0:00 Intro 1:42 What I like in a textbook 3:24 Additional vocabulary training book 4:06 Modern everyday language 5:36 Compact or crash course books 6:11 When to use a language learning app 6:57 Boost your meta-linguistic awareness 7:32 How to get the most out of flash cards 9:01 How to learn phrases and idioms 10:10 A comprehensive grammar book 10:57 Small grammar books and verb tables 11:41 Advanced vocabulary resources 12:50 My favorite type of language learning book 13:19 Additional study tips From “Integration Classes“ I have had the experience that all the books are rubbish and pretty much a testament of bourgeois bigotry. People have weird names, talk like idiots and no colloquial language is taught. So if you are looking to be able to talk to Germans and not just pass A1/A2. Well, you need extra literature then 100%. Also, books really help to learn faster. The more different types of media you use, the better, the more fun. Language learning should be 90% effortless and 10% annoying. If you disagree, you have not yet found the right materials. I make videos about German language, German grammar and German culture. So if you are looking for these kinds of things–hi! Welcome. Most of the upcoming videos are made for beginners like you. Advanced videos (slow German, conversational german) will follow soon. German language & grammar tips ⁣ This is my German language project. I just always wanted to do something like this. My main channel (mostly about minimalism and hiking) and my socials can be found below ↓↓↓ I don’t really have a page for this project like a learning platform or anything, but if you have questions, you can contact me on Instagram, on TikTok (also German language & culture content) or in the comment section of course. ⁣ YOUTUBE · BLOG · INSTAGRAM ·
