In the practice room! Soloing over a Yussef Dayes Beat

This is a little more raw than a lot of stuff I usually put on Youtube. There’s a lot of ideas in this that I was trying to work out, mostly some outside harmonic stuff that doesn’t come so naturally to my ears. There are a couple of moments where I repeat an idea a couple times just to see what I can make of it in the moment (going to do a video on this soon). There are some scary intervals like b9’s on Minor chords and major 7ths on Dominant chords, but I assure you it’s all in good fun. I’ve been listening to a lot of Holdsworth, Wayne Krantz, and Bryan Baker so they definitely inspired a lot of these ideas. I made this track around this Yussef Dayes sample (I don’t remember where I got it from), it’s just a simple progression- Cmin Fmin Bb7sus. Also, I’m going to start making some more lesson videos on here, so let me know in the comments what you’d like to see me cover! Sincerely, Cecil
