F/A-18 Hornet Demo

I was one of the Navy’s F/A-18 Demo pilots back in 1997. I traveled around the country to many airshows and performed a solo demonstration of the F/A-18 for the crowd. This is my HUD (heads up display) video along with a video shot by a friend from the ground. The video is from the Mchord AFB airshow. Airspeed is boxed on the left of the HUD, altitude (boxed) and rate of climb or descent are on the right side. Mach and G are also on the left side labeled with a M or G. The lower right corner of the HUD shows my distance from the center of the runway. Watch closely and you will see G above 7.0 and rates of climb above 50,000 fpm. I even break the sound barrier at about 9 minutes into the video.
