Character Illustration with texture in Adobe Illustrator | Speed Art (Illustration Process)

In today’s Adobe Illustrator speed art video you’ll see full illustration process from pencil sketch to finished flat character design with noise textures and patterns. In this character illustration process I show you how to combine the blob brush and the pen tool when you’re painting over or tracing your pencil sketch in Adobe Illustrator. It’s very handy to use the blob brush to fill all big shapes of your flat style illustration, but when you need to create small detailed patterns - it’s better to use the pen tool. After this you’ll see different combinations and examples of how to use and apply noise textures in flat illustrations. It’s better to have the Transparency and Gradient panels opened and active, because they play the main role in this case. I slowed down all crucial moments and hints for you. You’ll see my adjustments, setups and experiments with values. I hope today’s illustration tutorial about flat character design in Illustrator will really help you out.
