Toscanini Temper Tantrum

Italian conductor Arturo Toscanini (1867-1957) was almost as well-known for his fiery temper as he was for his music. This November 26, 1953 audio tirade during a rehearsal with the NBC Symphony Orchestra of “Dance of the Water Nymphs“ from Alfredo Catalani’s opera “Loreley“ gives an indication how he acquired his tyrannical reputation.
