Тема Божьего суда чаще всего невольно заставляет нас напрячься и кажется довольной зловещей, ведь как бы мы не старались жить праведной жизнью, в глубине души мы понимаем, что и выходит у нас это с переменным успехом, и едва ли этих проблесков достаточно, чтобы угодить Богу. О суде написано много, казалось бы, противоречивых вещей - есть где запутаться. О том, что когда Бог будет судить людей он разделит их на овец и козлов по недвусмысленному критерию. О том, что суд начнётся с Дома Бога и том, что верующий не судится, а неверующий уже осужден. О том, что когда Дух Бога придёт обличить мир о суде, Он откроет не осуждение для нас, а что князь мира сего осужден. Мы поклоняемся Богу, но как будто каждую минуту сомневаемся, что суд Бога окажется в нашу пользу. А между тем весть о суде, которую принёс Иисус и которую проповедовали апостолы - это хорошие новости, насквозь евангельские. That when the Spirit of God comes to convict the world of judgment, He will reveal not condemnation to us, but that the prince of this world is condemned. We worship God, but as if every minute we doubt that the judgment of God will be in our favor. Meanwhile, the message of judgment that Jesus brought and that the apostles preached is good news, evangelical through and through.
