LUKAS GRAHAM is a famous Danish pop band that rose to world-famous status in 2011 with the single ORDINARY THINGS. In October 2015 they released “7 YEARS“, which explored the theme of growing up and loneliness. In my opinion, it takes great inspiration from “IT WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR“ sung by Sinatra among many others (check out my version too!). The words of warning Graham’s mother imparted to him set the tone for this nostalgic piece. He soon recalls the times of his happy youth and being reckless with his friends, breaking rules, and hanging out with the all-too-familiar kinds of people who can be counted on for little more than to enjoy the ride when things are going well.
