Woodturning - Applewood Pencils

This weeks project is a batch of 10 applewood pencils. Thought I would take you all through the entire process of making the blanks from the log, and from the blanks to turning them into pencils. There’s still another batch of blanks left over from this log so I will be turning those at a later date. Pencils are finished with sanding sealer, an abrasive paste followed by a beeswax polish. The log has been previously dried so there was no waiting for the blanks to dry out, moisture content was about 11%. The pencils will be on the website later on today. My website -
