Stilla sköna aftontimma is the next song in our series. It is a folkmelody that was sung by Torn Erik Andersson. He was a bellringer, shoemaker and musician from Ål in Dalarna. Born in 1843 he passed in 1931 and left a small legacy of folk music. Inspired by this old melody Oskar Lindberg wrote this SATB score in 1945. It is a part of “four spiritual folksongs“.
