Footage of Antifascist forces fighting against fascist dictator General Francisco Franco’s Nationalist Army during Spanish Civil War. Spanish countryside with a castle on a hill. Closer shot of a castle showing destruction - castle looks old so it is unclear whether destruction is outcome of war. Several nice shots of the soldiers relaxing in between battles. Nice C/U shot of a girl soldier laughing. She has POUM insignia on her cap. POUM - stands for Partido Obrero de Unificacion Marxista. The party members were known as Anti-Stalinist Marxist - some of their troops were International Brigades. Various shots of the men firing field guns in the countryside.
