He says: “No breakfast again!“ He picks up the newspaper and looks at it. He sees an advert which reads: “. Order your food by post.“ Jerry has an idea. He writes on the newspaper, filling in the words for . as “Cats or Dogs“ He sits at a writing desk and composes two letters, one to the grocer and one to the butcher. He asks for a box of dog biscuits and 4 ham bones (with a P.S. saying “With the meat round.“) Jerry walks out of the house and through the garden then posts the letters in the postbox. He paces up and down in front of his kennel. A few hours later he is still pacing. A delivery man arrives.
