Better Than Ever! Aka Newport Carnival (1931)

Full title reads: “Better Than Ever! Newport’s magnificent Carnival in aid of Royal Gwent Hospital.“ Newport, Wales. Men in costume of ancient Roman soldiers parade along the streets of Newport. Behind them in the parade comes a decorated float bringing several young women - possibly beauty queens. Next in the procession come children doing folk dancing. There are floats decorated with flowers, various people in fancy dress and historical costume. The carnival is designed to raise money for charity - in this case the Royal Gwent Hospital. It appears to have been transferred at the wrong speed. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
