Roller Skating Derby In New York (1936)

Item title reads - New York. New York, America (USA). L/S interior of New York’s Hippodrome with roller skaters poised in the rink to begin the Derby. M/S as the starting flag is dropped and they speed away. Various good shots as they skate round and round the rink, the equivalent of 2000 miles! Two speed ahead of the others and compete for first place. M/S of one of the competitors lying on a bench whilst a man in a white coat bends his legs up and turns his ankles, warming them up for the race. The narrator explains this is a relay race, M/S as the teams change over on the circuit, it appears that the women race first and their relay partners are men.
