Oyster Farming Beware - Other Colour Pics Share This Title (1967)

Whitstable, Kent. Fishermen set out from the harbour at Whitstable with buckets full of young oysters, reared in river beds; these will be thrown in the sea to mature (we don’t see them being thrown in!). At sea a dredger is lowered into the water to bring up oysters and other sea creatures; a young man rolls a cigarette while waiting. Starfish and other sea creatures are amongst the catch; the men sort through the oysters to pick out the biggest and best ones; the ones that aren’t fully grown are thrown back in the sea. The young man sits on the side of the boat, opens an oyster and eats it. Cuts exist - see separate record. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
