Steps! From “Good News“ At The Carlton Theatre, London (1928)

Extracts from the theatrical show “Good News“ at the Carlton Theatre in London. Chorus girls lean forwards and clap their hands as Michael Tripp (?) performs a comedy dance routine on stage. This is presumably a skit on the Charleston as he does all sorts of silly, mad steps. Very fast, nutty dancing ensues - quite funny. Intertitle reads: “Mixed Colleges mean mixed dances. The “Varsity Drag“ provides the mixture.“ A group of chorus girls dressed in gymslips do a routine. Various “principals“ dance in front of them, one woman lifting up her skirt to show off her legs and bloomers. M/S of some of the chorus girls dancing showing off their knee socks! Frenzied dancing takes place but there doesn’t seem to be anyone in drag so don’t be confused by the name of the dance! Was item in Eve’s Film Review issue 379. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
