Racing Film Star (1961)

Fade in to M/S of actor Richard Wyler walking from the entrance of Scotland Yard in London as commentator says “Meet the man from Interpol“; C/U as he lights a cigarette. We mix into M/S of Richard on a motorbike, getting it into position for a race at Thruxton Circuit near Andover in Hampshire; he wears biking leathers and crash helmet. As the men line up for the race on the opposite side of the tarmac to their bikes Richard chats to other entrants; at the signal they all run to their bikes, start them up and zoom off. Various shots of the bikers speeding along the track. A smart young man in the pit clicks a stop watch and shows it to another man. M/S of a man in a boiler suit and bowler hat in the pit holding out a slate with the number 10 on it (number of laps). Richard comes in for a pit stop, chats to a man with a quiff (shot list says he’s a singing celebrity - not recognised by this cataloguer), then rides off again, watched by a group of men, one of whom is wearing flip-flops.
