Ice Man (1955)

St. Moritz, Switzerland. L/S of snowy landscape with town of St Moritz nestling amongst the mountains. M/S of mountain with icicles hanging down in the foreground of the shot. M/S of a man standing on some frozen water slicing through it with a large saw. He is cutting blocks of ice. L/S of him cutting through the ice. C/U of the saw cutting through the ice which has formed on a frozen lake. A chunk is loosened. Narrator informs us that the man is Henri Rogantini. His job is to cut and deliver ice-blocks to local hotels where it is stored for use in the summer months. Henri uses a long handled pick to lift out the block of ice and it is stacked up with other pieces. M/S of Henri standing on the back of a sledge which is pulled by a horse.
