Narrator explains Queen Astrid of Belgium (formerly Princess Astrid of Sweden) has been killed in car crash. King Leopold III (formerly Crown Prince Leopold of Belgium) was driving when the car lost control and went into lake. Queen was thrown from car and against a tree. Various shots of local people laying flowers around a wooden cross marking spot of accident. Various shots men working to lift car out of water. Brussels, Belgium. Prime Minister and members of Belgian Government wait for arrival of Queen Astrid’s coffin at railway station.
