Intertitle reads: “Concrete and other styles may come and go but the old brick still smiles - he can hold his own.“ M/S of a man digging “pug“ - he digs with a shovel and loads it into a wheelbarrow. He pushes the barrow up a ramp to a mixer where he tips it in. C/U of the mixture being mixed. The moulders shape the bricks. M/S of three men at work. L/S of a long barrow of bricks being pushed towards the camera. M/S of man stacking the bricks. The bricks are transferred to kilns. High angle shot of men running along with barrows full of bricks. L/S of two men stacking large wall of bricks. “Finally, after being “fired“ the bricks are loaded on lorries ready for those new houses we hear so much about.“ L/S of kiln of bricks with smoke coming out of the top.
