Creating A Creation (1920)

An expert from “Maison Lewis“ demonstrates how easily a simple shape may be transformed into many charming hats. First the “Napoleon“ creation. C/U of a woman worker folding back the brim of a hat and fixing a feather trim to the front of the hat. M/S of the milliner putting the hat on to a model who then poses for the camera. She turns to show the hat from different sides. C/U of a hat being stitched. The brim is turned up in three places. C/U of the hat being modelled - it has a very large bow on the side. Again the head is turned to show all around the hat. A hat with an ostrich feather trim is made before our eyes as the milliner pins a large feather boa affair onto the crown of a hat. The model turns her head for the camera. Intertitle reads: “And doubtless other possibilities will suggest themselves to our lady patrons.“ Note: some crazy looking hats!
