M/S of Mr Shillitoe (on right) and unknown man sitting at a table with numerous pipes laid out on it at Mr Shillitoe’s home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire; they are looking at an Indian Hookah. On the wall behind them are hanging many ornate and unusual pipes. High angle shot as they examine the Hookah; C/U of the Hookah as Mr S turns it over in his hands; high angle shot as he places it on the table. C/Us of Mr S, then of a snake or coil pipe that the commentator tells us was “made in 1750 from 13 ft of glazed Staffordshire porcelain“. C/U as Mr S points out the pipe’s bowl; tilt down to show the mouth piece. C/U of the unknown man making notes. C/U of an ivory Japanese pipe and tobacco holder; Mr S removes the long, thin pipe piece from the holder and replaces it. Then he opens the tobacco holder to show tobacco inside; tilt up as he hold it to his nose to sniff it (no reaction!).
